The newsletter for April will be issued after the April 17, 2007 tax deadline, but I wanted to share this information with you.
Don't forget to fund your IRA. 
 
You must make a contribution to your 2006 IRA by April 17, 2007.  Even if you file an extension, you must make your contribution by this date.  This deadline does not apply to SEP IRAs or other types of retirement accounts.
 
Extended deadline for filing
 
As you may have heard, the filing deadline has been extended to April 17, 2007 since April 16th is a holiday in Washington, DC.  Most states have confomed to this deadline.
 
All returns that were received in my office by the cutoff date will be ready in time to meet this deadline.  Unless, of course, we are waiting for open items that are beyond our control.
 
Extensions
 
If you need to file an extension, please contact me as soon as possible.  I will need to get the necessary information to prepare the forms for you.
 
Office holiday
 
Our office will be closed from Wednesday, April 18, 2007 through Sunday, April 22, 2007 so the staff can have a much deserved rest.  We will be open again on April 23rd.
