Mayors Caucus Quarterly Meeting October 1

The next Mayors Caucus Quarterly Meeting will be held on Monday, October 1, from 9:00-11:30 am at the Winter Garden, 9th floor, Harold Washington Library, 400 S. State St., Chicago.

Topics to be discussed include:
  • Pension Reform
  • Regional Economic Development
  • Caucus 5-year Strategic Plan
  • Implementation of Video Gaming
  • Service Delivery Report

Please RSVP to Chris Gentes at lcml@sbcglobal.net or Dave Bennett at dbennett@mayorscaucus.org.

Veto Session Dates

The General Assembly Veto Session will be held on November 27, 28, 29, and December 4, 5, 6. Among the main issues will be pension reform. Municipalities would like public safety pensions included in any reform, but there does not seem to be much support from legislators. They would like to reform state pensions first, then deal with local pensions. We will continue to lobby for inclusion of public safety pensions.
Please share this LCMLetter with staff. It is our aim to keep elected officials and their village staff informed about the issues facing municipalities.

Sincerely,
Christine Gentes
