The LCMLetter is published twice a month and its goal is to keep Lake County Municipal League members informed on municipal issues. As issues relevant to municipal officials arise, the LCMLetter will provide you with a synopsis of the issues and provide you with a link for further details.
Strategic Planning Member Survey being developed 

The LCML Board of Directors is in the process of developing a Strategic Planning survey for members. We are working with NIU's Center for Government Studies to develop the survey.

We hope to send the survey via email to mayors in late August. Please watch for the survey and respond. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

UAE:  Medical & Laboratory Equipment Importer to Visit East Coast from September 10. 
 

A significant UAE based importer of medical & laboratory equipment, medical disposables and sterile products will be visiting the US this September.

 
The company, specializes in handling such projects as medical gas plants, vacuum plant systems, industrial gas plant systems, compressed air and a complete range of biomedical equipment, etc. for new hospitals, laboratories, schools, industries, commercial and industrial complexes, is planning a visit to the U.S. around September 10.

 

They will be in the US for two weeks and will visit New York, Pennsylvania, Baltimore and Atlanta. Their schedule has yet to be finalized pending meetings with appropriate US companies.

 
They are interested in meeting any and all companies with appropriate product lines for the UAE and Arabian Gulf markets.
Fair Housing Survey
 

The Chicago Area Fair Housing Alliance has been contracted by CMAP to conduct an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice for the seven-county CMAP region. This is not only mandated by HUD, but is also an effective tool for ensuring that the planning projects, specifically those initiated through CMAP's Local Technical Assistance grants, further fair housing goals.
