Illinois Route 53/120 Extension report
The Illinois Route 53/120 Blue Ribbon Advisory Council passed its final resolution on May 18 to recommend the extension of IL Route 53 north through Central Lake County. The corridor is one of GO TO 2040's high-priority major capital projects, and CMAP has provided extensive staff assistance to the council.

RTA Funding Programs Call for Projects in partnership with CMAP In an effort to expand opportunities for transportation and land use planning assistance, the RTA and CMAP have partnered for a second year to release a joint call for Community Planning Applications.
Projects funded by the Community Planning program include transit-oriented development, transit improvement, and integrated transportation and land use.
For Local Technical Assistance, some types of projects might include comprehensive plans, sustainability plans, land use and site redevelopment plans, or ordinance updates.
Deadline for application is August 1. Projects preliminarily selected in October 2012, then formally selected in December 2012. Start date - Spring 2013.
