CMAP is making staff resources and grants available for community-based programs through the Go to 2040 Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program. On May 24 elected officials, municipal planners and other staff, community- based organizations and other nonprofit and civic organizations can attend a workshop to learn about the new LTA Call for Projects.

The workshop will be held on May 24 from 9:00 am-3:30 pm on the second floor of the UBS Tower, One N. Wacker Drive in Chicago.

Countdown to End of Session

With only a little over two weeks remaining in the Legislative Session, there are bills looming that will impact municipalities. Besides, pension, budget and Medicare concerns, the following bills need to be watched:

SB 2862 PTELL Extension Limitation
HB 5667 Project Labor Agreement
SB 2643 Responsible Bidder
SB 3518 Charitable Activities on Streets
HB 3637 Three amendments to strip PPRT from municipalities

Please contact your legislators and express your opposition to these bills.
Please share this LCMLetter with staff. It is our aim to keep elected officials and their village staff informed about the issues facing municipalities.

Sincerely,
Christine Gentes
