The LCMLetter is published twice a month and its goal is to keep Lake County Municipal League members informed on municipal issues. As issues relevant to municipal officials arise, the LCMLetter will provide you with a synopsis of the issues and provide you with a link for further details.

Mayors Caucus Quarterly Meeting, August 23  

 

The next Metropolitan Mayors Caucus Quarterly Meeting is scheduled for August 23. It will feature Chicago's new Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Plans are to begin the meeting at noon with a light lunch and conclude no later than 3:00 or 3:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in downtown Chicago with a location to be determined.

Save the Date - LCML Annual Banquet, November 17 

 

Lake County Municipal League will hold its first Annual Banquet on Thursday. November 17 in place of our regular meeting. The Banquet will be held at the Country Squire, Route 45 and 120, Grayslake. It will begin at 6:00 pm with a cash bar, followed by dinner at 7:00 pm. The cost per person is $50.  

 

Mayors and other elected officials will be invited as well as managers and administrators. Spouses are welcome. An email invitation will be sent to mayors and managers in the fall with more details.   

Illinois Tollway Appoints Route 53 Blue Ribbon Advisory Council

The Illinois Tollway announced a Blue Ribbon Advisory Council to work together to develop regional consensus on whether to move forward with the Illinois Route 53 corridor project in Lake County. Consensus is needed to determine what the solution to reducing congestion in Lake County is, how it will look and how to pay for it.  

 

Comments on Route 53 can be posted on the Illinois Tollway County Outreach page www.illinoistollway.com . Be sure to include this information in your community newsletters so residents can comment on the plan.
