New location LCML Membership Meeting, March 17
Many municipalities are consolidating services to save money. Whether it is combining police departments with another municipality or coordinating code enforcement with a neighboring community, there are a range of money-saving solutions. Bill Balling will discuss the results of the Mayors Caucus Service Delivery Task Force. Dan Quick, Wauconda, will discuss his village's consolidation efforts.
The March 17 LCML Membership Meeting will be held at Dock's Bar & Grill, 313 E. Liberty St., Wauconda.

Planning is underway for the LCML Lobby Day in Springfield, April 13. This is great way to meet with legislators and discuss local issues. We will be joining with Illinois Municipal League for this event.

Road to Renewal II: Partnering for Prosperity in the Resurging Auto Industry
On March 29-30, a conference will be held in Dearborn, Michigan, hosted by the Center for Automotive Research. The auto industry has invested billions of dollars on new technology which has lead to increased demand for goods and services.
Attendees can learn how to attract, retain and maximize new investment; manage company relationships; access capital; re-purpose vacant properties and leverage educational infrastructure.

2011 LCML Legislative Initiatives
The 2011 LCML Legislative Initiatives were presented at the Legislative Breakfast on February 5. Legislators in attendance included State Senators Susan Garrett, Matt Murphy and Suzi Schmidt. State Legislators in attendance included Representatives Mark Beaubien, Sid Mathias, Rita Mayfield, Tom Morrison, Carol Sente and Ed Sullivan. Newly-elected Congressman Robert Dold (10th District) and Joe Walsh (8th District) also attended.

New Life for Troubled Subdivisions
The Will County Governmental League is hosting a seminar to discuss the future of partially completed residential subdivisions. The meeting will be held at Lincoln-Way Central High School, 1801 East Lincoln Highway, Fine Arts Center, New Lenox on Wednesday, March 23 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Cost is $15 and it includes lunch.
Three cases studies will be discussed:
- Village of Manhattan - completion of infrastructure improvements and letter of credit issues in failed developments
- City of Lockport - Modifying city services and financial obligations in a challenging environment
- Village of Plainfield - How to address partially completed residential units.
