Meet Rex
Get Friendly with Rex Begonias

If you are not already familiar with them, come in during February and browse our display of rex begonias!  Rex begonias sport foliage in stunning combinations of red, pink, purple, green and silver and dainty pink blooms in winter.  During winter rex begonias can be grown indoors in bright, indirect light; too much direct sunlight can cause the leaves to burn and their color to fade.  Water only when soil is dry and avoid splashing water on the leaves.  Rex begonias are best grown in clay or terra cotta pots to avoid water-logging.  Over time these begonias can reach 14" tall and wide.  After the threat of frost has passed rex begonias can be moved outdoors to shade or dappled sunlight and used by themselves or in mixed plantings.  Rex begonias are a delightfully low maintenance plant choice and provide beautiful foliage year-round.
