October is my favorite month! Days like today are incredible, the bright sunshine and the yellow and red leaves. The trees change so effortlessly. Too bad people can't do the same!

The truth is change is hard and nothing will change until something changes, no matter how small. We often get stuck or frustrated, or seem to go in directions that don't get us where we want to be. We try and try, and try again, even though our favorite strategy isn't working, and there is little evidence it will ever work. And yet, we keep on trying. But many of us are using ineffective strategies. We have goals or desires or dreams, but we are pursuing them with strategies that have almost no chance of succeeding. We have been "trying" for years without success, and yet we keep on doing the same things in the same ways, year after year.

If you are not reaching your goal, you have two basic choices: change your goal, or change your strategy. If your current strategy isn't working, tell the truth about that. If you've had a major goal for more than a year and it isn't happening, ask why not! Question your approach. Get better advice. Do something different!

And, above all, acknowledge the things that have to change in order to make room for your goal to arrive. What will you have to stop doing? What steps or changes will move you forward this week? What must you do, or stop doing? If your dreams and goals are truly important to you, do one thing different this week. Take a step. Try a new way. Then step back and watch what happens.

Summary of "Simply Beautiful" - with Ingrid Elfver.
 The Art of Self Acceptance

Authentic Muse Ingrid Elfver inspired us with her joy, beauty and courage. In 2002 Ingrid contracted a severe illness and was told she would go blind and deaf and spend the rest of her life in wheelchair. Faced with such a future, she focused on positive things and changed her thinking and herself.

Ingrid shared that thinking negatively about yourself cripples you. As women, we judge ourselves more harshly than we judge anyone else. We fail to understand and acknowledge that we are beautiful and that beauty starts on the inside. True beauty is accepting yourself unconditionally and letting that shine through to others. You are beautiful because you are.

Ingrid has a wonderful, inspirational website at www.SimplyAuthentic.com. You can contact her at 720.212.4200 or at Bliss@SimplyAuthenitc.com

November 15 - "Are You Leading a Slimtastic Life?" with Keri Silk
 Find the Skinny in You

Like Dorothy in the Wizard of OZ, you've had the power all along. You just didn't believe it. In this interactive workshop we'll touch on the five core strategies; Vision, Nutrition, Movement, Community and Spirit. You'll discover some new techniques for making weight loss fun and almost effortless. So be ready to click your heels together and say "I am skinny, happy and healthy"!

"Wow! You look great!" Today this is a common compliment for Keri Silk, Founder and President of Slimtastic and the International Association of Weight Loss Coaches (IAWLC). But in 2005 she was tipping the scales at over 250 pounds and squeezing into a size 22. Keri realized she needed something new, not the same old diet and patterns. She discovered new ideas and new ways of thinking. She put these together with what she already knew about herself and Slimtastic was created. Slimtastic is a new program that looks at five core elements in a person's life. Today, Keri is an energetic size 12. She shares her approach with individual clients and speaks to groups about weight loss. Keri is still loosing weight and the compliments continue to pour in.
