What a surprise to wake up yesterday morning to
snow! I have been spoiled by the warm, beautiful days
we have enjoyed. The change was a surprise even
though I listened to the weather report. But should we
ever be surprised by change?
The truth is that
life is always changing. Changes can be subtle or
dramatic, but change is always happening. If we can
understand change is the reality of life, the less we will
be frustrated when change brings the cold, cloudy
days into our life. And the more we can rejoice when
change brings the sunshine and warmth back to life.
The trick is to understand what change is within our
power.
Who do you have power over? Your
partner? I wish! Your child? For a time, but you lose
that power quickly as she grows. The only power you
truly have is over yourself; the power to change your
thoughts, your actions, your life.

Summary of "Living Your Big Dream" with Cindy Morris.
It's Not business at usual
During our last Soul Food luncheon, Cindy Morris
shared insights from her experience as a
businesswoman and entrepreneur in Boulder. As
Cindy explained, men and women do not "do"
business the same way. Women do business and
the business of life from the "gut". We rely on feelings
and intuition to help us make decisions. And women
network; we work with each other not against each
other.
Cindy emphasized knowing yourself,
especially our decision making style. She explained
eight basic styles:
- The Procrastinator - avoiding a project forever even
if it takes only 15 minutes.
- The Methodical Plodder - plots and plans forever
but never takes the leap!
- The Questioner - the person who gets information
from everybody!
- The Agonizer - shoulda, coulda, woulda.
- The Point and Choose Style - just open the
phonebook and point.
- The Self-flagellator - the person who makes a
decision and then beats herself up about it.
- The Irresponsible Non-chooser - if I ignore it, it will
go away.
- Cosmic-not Conscious - the universe will provide
and I don't need to be practical about it!
Do you see yourself as well as someone you
know in these styles?
Do you have a vision, a
desire to serve? Do you have energy, an inspired
purpose? Then you are a Priestess Entrepreneur.
Don't let the message another person is sending you
stop you from getting where you want to go. Step up,
take responsibility, be proactive and develop your
business and the business of your life.

May 17 - "Awakening Compassionate Awareness Through the Practice of Projective Dreamwork" with Billie Ortez
Sweet Dreams
Every night our dreams come to guide us toward our
highest potential. So often, though, we forget our
dreams or don't see the point in recording them. Join
certified dreamworker, Billie Ortiz, and learn the basics
of group projective dreamwork, discuss common
dream symbols and hints on how to remember your
dreams. Learn how recognizing that "all dreams
come in the service of health and wholeness" and
agreeing to phrase our comments as "If this were my
dream," encourages deeper insight into the dream
material and allows for all praticipants to enter the
dream as though it were their dream as well. Once
the dream becomes "everybody's dream" we begin to
realize how we all share a universal bond in our
collective unconscious through the language of our
common shared humanity. Bring your dream journal,
dream art or just your curiosity and learn about the
endlessly fascinating and infinitely rewarding world or
dreams!
Billie Ortiz is a certified dreamworker
who, since 1997, has helped scores of dreamers on
the path to self-discovery through a better
understanding of their dreams. She offers private
sessions, groups, workshops and bi-annual weekend
retreats featuring dream book author Jeremy Taylor.
