What a beautiful October we have had this year! I am very happy we have not had a hard frost yet; a few more tomatoes to enjoy and time to get plants ready for the winter.

Have you noticed how effortlessly the leaves change? It's not that easy for people. Here are a few tips to help.

1. People change things that are vital and essential to them. Whether it's becoming a better parent, quitting drugs or getting a promotion, when something is absolutely ESSENTIAL, human beings find a way to do it.

2. People under- estimate the power of their environment. We vow to change and set goals, but our "lives" get in the way; work, kids, bills. To change yourself, change your surroundings!

3. People forget that change always starts as an "inside job." Change always begins with an idea. Every invention starts in someone's imagination, every new skill begins by believing we can "do it." Every lasting change happens inside our head first, and in the outer world second. Too often we get that sequence reversed and say, "If I were more successful, I'd be more generous." It doesn't work that way. Start first with yourself and your beliefs. Your outer world will quickly "catch up."

On a personal note; for those of you on my journey with me, my husband came home on Thursday after 72 long days. He is doing very well and we begin outpatient therapy tomorrow.

Summary of - "Living Joy" with Andrea Jackson.
 Looking forward to each day.

At our last Soul Food luncheon, Andrea Jackson gave us the key to joy, which is to be real, authentic and in the moment. As we live joy more fully, joy manifests itself in everything we do. We no longer need to evaluate the circumstances our of lives. So create a "joy list", a list of things that bring you joy and do one or two each day. As the joy in your life rises, your hearts desires will come to you.
