Calvary Baptist, Lompoc, worshiping our God

A Gratitude-Rich Environment

gratitude God designed the church to be a gratitude-rich environment.

Worship and thanksgiving to our God are to steadily flow and overflow in expressions of praise.* It's such a joy and privilege to travel around our district seeing and hearing God's people in worship.

Words of gratitude are to regularly be extended to spiritual leaders as they lead, preach, and teach well.** This month, Pastor Appreciation Month, many CPW congregations will be honoring the season and obeying God** by sending notes, emails, FB messages, and boxes of Krispy Kremes to their pastor(s). I know this will encourage and energize leaders who love their people but are dabbling with discouragement and sugar deficiencies.

But the gratitude shouldn't stop there; pastors are wise to seize opportunities to express words of appreciation and respect to the folks who serve them and serve alongside them in the grind of gospel ministry.*** The person in the pew  is typically not looking for temporal reward, but a timely word might just help her to be reminded of the significance she plays in God's redemptive work.

You see, when gratitude rises up from every corner of the church -- directed to both our God and to His Spirit-led people -- selfishness dissipates and faith percolates.

   Praise be to our God...

And Thank You for your sacrifices and service to our Lord,

David Yetter

Executive Minister

a platform to love the people in their neighborhood and share the gospel.

New Harvest, Clovis, initiated a de-centralized approach to VBS by having neighborhood Bible clubs in members' homes. This created several "wins" related to their mission! (check out the video to the right)
