| Our Time is Short... | |
"What I mean, brothers, is that our time is short.... For this world  in its present form is passing away." 2 Cor. 7:29,30
In football, when time is running out and the game on the line, the 2-minute drill is called. The 2-minute drill is about:
- Efficiency - time can't be wasted when there's precious little left; the maximum number of plays are squeezed in a limited amount of time
- Decision-making - everything is done in view of the primary goal; energy and focus are placed on actions having the highest probability of bringing results
- Calm - those who perform the 2-minute drill well demonstrate a measure of confidence and self-control in the middle of panic and chaos
Paul called first century Christians to perform the 2-minute drill. I'd like to challenge us to the same! This means:
- Efficiency - Do you evaluate your schedule to make certain you are making good use of time? Can you identify any time-drains that have become time-traps? Ephesians 5:15-17
- Decision-making - In your ministry, are you mostly involved in fruitful activities that accomplish your appointed purpose and bring God glory? John 15:8,16
- Calm - Are you able -- even when the pressure is on -- to trust God and see what next step you need to take? Proverbs 3:5,6; Isaiah 12:2
This is a tall order, but it's one we need to accept now!

 Church Anniversaries:
Filipino Community Christian Church, Fremont, celebrated their 22nd anniversary last month. Pictured to the left are key leaders from the church with their guest, Ray An Fuentes.
Iglesia Nuevo Pacto, Delano, celebrated their third anniversary recently (see picture at top of page).
New Harvest, Clovis, will celebrate their tenth anniversary on April 17th.
Church Closure:
Lakeside Baptist Church, Oakland (picture to the right from 1915), will have its final service on Easter Sunday, April 24th. Lakeside, which had a rich 126 year history, will live on through its daughter and granddaughter churches: Fair Oaks, Concord; Golden Hills, Brentwood; and Bay Farm, Alameda. In addition, the facilities will continue to be used for gospel ministry through the Bay Area Christian Gospel Church (Chinese) and Regeneration Church.

Annual State of the Church Assessment -- Second Winner!!

As part of CPW's ministry to strengthen churches in our region, we are asking each church to complete and return an Annual State of the Church Assessment form that can be downloaded here. Email completed forms to CPW or mail it to the office.
Calvary Baptist Church of Turlock won the second drawing for a $25 Chipotle gift card! Their name was drawn from among the churches who have returned their completed Annual State of the Church Assessment form. Pastor Rusty Lyon received the award on behalf of CBC at the Valley LEAD Team meeting in March.

CONNECT through PRAYER: 2nd Tuesday CPW Prayer on April 12

Pray and fast with us on Tuesday, April 12th...
- Paul Root, CPW Church Planting Director, and Chris Swanson, Pastor of Harvest Bible Church in Paso Robles, are serving as church planting coaches in Argentina. Pray they will have great impact on God's work and God's workers there!
 - Keep praying for Pastor Filemon Tamboboy and his wife, Shirley. He continues his cancer treatments in San Diego. You're invited to email Fil with words of encouragement!
- Pray for powerful Resurrection Day services in all of our churches! Pray God will win the battle over disbelief, disinterest, and discouragement so many in our communities face!
- Pray for Grace Baptist of Santa Maria as they continue their search for a Senior Pastor and work through good, but challenging, transition issues.
- CPW 3D is growing in its impact as we engage with churches here, near, and far away. Pray for 3D Church in Tartu, Estonia, and their pastor, Jakob Remmel.
