 CPW 3D Defined

In Acts 1:8 Jesus called His followers to make a gospel impact in three dimensions (i.e. 3D): here, near, and far away. Converge PacWest is looking to go 3D, starting and strengthening churches on five continents.

We are seeking 2000 Local Partners who will donate $25 in 2011 to start and strengthen churches in Haiti, Uganda, India, Argentina, the Nordic-Baltic area, and in our own region. The $50,000 raised will be used to train, mobilize, and support national church planters and plants.

Local Partners receive monthly email updates (like this!) tracking the progress of the work and future possibilities.

Greetings!

This month marks an important milestone in CPW 3D. We are sending out our first checks to some of our international ministry partners, thanks to the generous donations from you, our local ministry partner!

It was my privilege to sit face to face with two of our international ministry partners in Haiti a few days ago (see article and pictures below). Our new focus on starting and strengthening churches is helping re-shape our work in Haiti. I trust it will also result in a strong partnership that will bless the Lord, will reach Haitian people with the gospel, and will teach us to be a people of generosity and prayer.

Thanks for being a good partner!

For His glory,
David Yetter

3D Update: starting and strengthening churches in Haiti
CPW goes global

Converge PacWest has been engaged with believers in Maissade, Haiti, for more than seven years. Our ministries there have been primarily about coming along side them to help those who have great needs: whether the need is a home (building and funding an orphanage), a meal (building and supporting a feeding center), or a place for training (building on to a school, building a pastoral training center, and presently we are helping build a vocational training facility).

A little over a week ago, a few of us were Haiti Meetingable to meet with Pastor Withny Pierre and Pastor Yoyo in Haiti (see picture) to discuss how we might more directly engage with them in starting and strengthening churches.

"First Baptist Church has the desire to evangelize our neighbors here in Maissade and those in our surrounding villages.  We have 18 potential church plants in the outlying areas, but we are in desperate need of training our young people to serve the Lord and lead the church. In these 18 locations we have churches forming, but we lack leaders. 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few...'" -- Pastor Yoyo

Their local church is doing all they can to catch up with

Haiti Ordination

the training of young Christian men; they even ordained Pastor Accent and Pastor Lulu, recent graduates, on February 13 (see picture).

Their request is that we help fund the training of Haitian pastors/church planters -- they have 6 young men ready to begin their theological training right now!

Through CPW 3D,Young Men in Haiti Church we are positioned to provide scholarships for these theological students/Haitian church planters beginning in Fall 2011.

In addition, future mission trips to Haiti will certainly include practical ministry training -- and some school teacher training -- that will continue to strengthen First Baptist's ministry and its ability to continue to church plant for years to come!

If you would like to extend the scholarships we will offer to these young men beyond their first year of training, or if you would want to see the scholarship cover more than the 50% tuition we intend to offer, please contact David Yetter.

Thank you for your real help in starting CPW 3D!
