CPW Goes Global |
Paul was ready to get back on mission with Barnabas. Little did he realize God had something even more far-reaching in mind (Acts 15:36-16:10). Through a series of surprising and Spirit-directed events (first Paul and Barnabas have a severe disagreement; later Paul's team was blocked from preaching by the Spirit in some regions), Paul was prompted to extend his ministry to a new continent! I believe God is prompting Converge PacWest (CPW) to expand its ministry to distant continents, too. This is not a new revelation! Rather this is an application of Christ's words when He told His disciples to have spiritual influence here, near, and far away ( Acts 1:8; also see Matthew 29:19-20). | |

To do this, we are trying to raise 2000 Local Partners who will help us support church planting efforts globally -- on five continents! Check out the CPW 3D video 1.1 by clicking on the picture. If you are a pastor, will you make this opportunity available to your congregation? Paul Root and I are willing to present this to your church or to your Mission Team. Or we are happy to provide the materials for you to make the presentation yourself! We're calling this emphasis CPW 3D. Will you join us as Converge PacWest goes global!
Your partner in taking the message of Christ globally (Note: I'm scheduled to be on the Haiti Team for Feb. 10-18),

Juggling Ministry, Family, and Personal Life -- May 13, 2011
|
At times juggling the demands of ministry can seem overwhelming. Somehow church leaders must balance church life, home life, their own spiritual, emotional and physical condition, in addition to many other matters. No wonder many feel overloaded! It can simply be too much.
We're planning a 3-hour training for church leaders and spouses to help explore healthy patterns and perspectives for balancing life.
More details will be made available soon...
Save the date: Friday, May 13, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at New Harvest, Clovis. Also save the date for our 2011 Biennial Meeting/Celebration which follows the training time on Friday night and Saturday morning, May 13-14.

The Inside Scoop

Bay Farm Community Church welcomed their new pastor and his family on Sunday, January 30. Pastor John and Joleen Willoughby and their son Zach come to us from previous ministries in Indiana and Roseville, CA. If you'd like to give them a quick welcome, tap here and type!
Please be praying as everyone makes important adjustments and as the Willoughbys seek God for a fruitful next chapter in life, family, and ministry!

CONNECT through PRAYER: 2nd Tuesday CPW Prayer on February 8
|
Pray and fast with us on Tuesday, February 8th...
- Four CPW ministry teams will be in Maissade, Haiti building relationships and a vocational training center throughout the month of February.
- Men's Retreat planning is in its final stages and registrations are coming in. Please ask God to work through: the fellowship times ("Band of Brothers" experiences!), the main sessions (Kenny Luck and Guy McIntyre, are our main presenters,
and Willow Glen's Worship Team is leading in song), and the workshops. - CPW 3D is looking to deepen and expand our impact in 2011 (see article and links above).
- Pastor Filemon Tamboboy is receiving treatment for his cancer at a treatment center in San Diego. He is experiencing some relief of pain and greater mobility! Pray for Fil, Shirley, and their daughter Karen as they support each other and represent Jesus to those they meet. You're invited to email Fil with words of encouragement!
- The CPW Women's Conference in Monterey last month was successful on many levels. Pray for the leadership as they evaluate and plan for the future.
Send specific prayer requests to Sandy by 10 a.m. Monday, February 7, to have them included on our Prayer Day list. Thanks to each one joining us in prayer.
