New Poll: Marriage Equality Not a Factor in Presidential Election An NBC News/WSJ poll released today is showing that voters are relatively unaffected by President Barack Obama's support for marriage equality, and that there is growing support for marriage equality in key constituencies - including among Republicans. According to the poll, 62 percent of voters said the positions of President Obama and Governor Mitt Romney on marriage equality would not affect their vote. The poll also found that nearly 50 percent of Republicans under the age of 35 support marriage equality in their home states; while 68 percent of all those polled under the age of 35 support marriage for loving, committed same-sex couples.

New Poll Shows Record Intensity in Support for the Freedom to Marry
A new poll released today by ABC and the Washington Post shows that the number of Americans who strongly support same-sex couples' freedom to marry now far exceeds the number of those who strongly oppose. Of the 53 percent of Americans who say the freedom to marry should be legal, 39 percent voiced that they were "strongly" in support. In contrast, only 32 percent voiced "strong" opposition.
