 90% OF LARGEST COMPANIES SAY LGBT INCLUSIVE WORKPLACES GOOD FOR BUSINESS   

      

Over ninety percent of the country's largest companies state that diversity policies and generous benefits packages are good for their corporate bottom line, according to a new study from UCLA's Williams Institute.  The study finds that more than half of these companies specifically state that their policies prohibiting LGBT discrimination or extending domestic partner benefits are good for business. The study is based on a review of statements issued by the top 50 Fortune 500 companies and the top 50 federal contractors when they first put these policies in place.

New study finds gay and bisexual men have varied sexual repertoires

A new study by researchers at Indiana University and George Mason University found the sexual repertoire of gay men surprisingly diverse, suggesting that a broader, less disease-focused perspective might be warranted by public health and medical practitioners in addressing the sexual health of gay and bisexual men.

Most Colleges Not Ready To Ask About LGBT Status

  

 

Gary Rold didn't necessarily consider himself a pioneer when he decided that Elmhurst College would begin asking applicants about their sexual orientation.

 

"I thought from the recruitment standpoint we might be more proactive" in attracting gay and lesbian students, said Rold, admissions dean at the small, private liberal arts school tucked in a middle-class Chicago suburb. He also wanted to make sure the students got any help they needed. "I realized that many of them come to college feeling really isolated and alienated."
