The Board of Directors of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) today announced their acceptance of President Jarrett Barrios' resignation. New Study On The Power Of Being Out at Work
A new study by the Center for Work-Life Policy , featured in the July/August issue of the Harvard Business Review, quantifies the loss to individuals and to the bottom line when organizations fail to create a workplace hospitable to their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees. UNITED NATIONS ADDRESSES LGBT HUMAN RIGHTS In a groundbreaking move in Geneva on Friday, the United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a resolution addressing the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. The document expresses "grave concern at acts of violence and discrimination, in all regions of the world, committed against individuals because of their sexual orientation and gender identity." It goes on to call for a study, to be completed by the end of this year, that documents acts of violence and discriminatory laws that are based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
