New Study Examines Relationship between Racial Justice Organizations and LGBT Communities

`Better Together` is a result of surveys and interviews with more than 80 organizations and 30 key leaders, based on the premise that significant numbers of LGBT people are of color and comprising an important part of the racial justice constituency.

A new, landmark study on the relationship between racial justice organizations and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities finds the lack of resources, funding, and community support are obstacles to engagement. The 2010 State of Higher Education for LGBT People reveals `chilly` campus climate toward LGBT people, high rates of harassment and lack of safety, inclusiveness in policies, programs and practices across the country

Campus Pride, a national non-profit working to create safer, more LGBT-inclusive colleges, announced the release of a landmark research study. The most comprehensive national research of its kind to date, The 2010 State of Higher Education for LGBT People documents the experiences of nearly 6,000 students, faculty, staff and administrators who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) at colleges and universities across the United States. The results point to significant harassment of LGBT students and a lack of safety and inclusiveness that exists on campuses across the country.

gaybowlingCNN and Univision Should Go Gay Bowling

This week, there must have been something in the stars, but I won't even try and justify the actions of CNN and Univision in terms of their recent survey polls. Just to update you, CNN ran a poll that asked the question: "Are Gay TV Characters Bad For Society?" Today I learned that Univision ran an online poll asking, "is homosexuality compatible with sports?"
