gay seniorNew Metlife Study Of LGBT Boomer

One-Third Live Alone; Only Half Live With A Partner/Spouse Most Look To Families Of Choice For Support As They Prepare For Later Life

LGBT Baby Boomers have withstood many years of discrimination and say their approach to retirement and aging has been shaped by these experiences.  "Still Out, Still Aging: The MetLife Study of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Baby Boomers," conducted with the American Society on Aging (ASA) and its constituent group, the LGBT Aging Issues Network (LAIN), shows LGBT Boomers will approach retirement differently than the general population and most will delay retirement until they are 70.  Largely single and living alone, they will rely more on close friends than family for support as they age.

delrayGay Delray: Paradise Found!

Written by: Margaret Fox, gaytravel.com

For those who think that South Florida's gay scene is confined to South Beach, a trip north to Delray is like a breath of fresh air.  Delray Beach provides a sunny, relaxing, slower-paced getaway only an hour's drive north of Miami. Delray has a quiet, small-town feel, but no one will give a second glance at a same-sex couple holding hands on the beach.  There's plenty to do in town, and the club scene, when you want it, is no more than half an hour away.
