Largest Ever Gay Travel Marketing Survey Launches -
LGBT Research To Be Released at WTM
With an overall population of three quarters
of a billion, these regions are home to more than 35 million lesbian
and gay people.
Surveying travel and leisure habits of gays and lesbians living in
fourteen countries, the largest ever gay market tourism research study
of the LGBT community is now underway.
Undertaken by specialist gay marketing agency Out Now, the '2010 Out Now
Global LGBT Market Study' will research the tourism and leisure
patterns of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people living
in fourteen countries across Latin America and Europe.

U. S. Census to Officially Count Same-Sex Married
and Unmarried Couples for First Time
Latino LGBT and civil rights organizations
hold community forum for `hard to count` community to discuss importance
of being
included in the 2010 Census.
The Latino Equality Alliance (LEA) - an alliance of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual, Transgender) community based groups - MALDEF and the Census
Bureau held a community forum last Saturday, February 27 with numerous
families in Highland Park, a largely Latino neighborhood in Los Angeles,
to discuss why and how the LGBT community should be counted in the 2010
Census. The first of its kind, the forum was to educate same-sex Latino
couples on how to fill out the Census form to make sure that LGBT
(Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) couples participate and are

SkyWest Changes Policy to Offer Equal Travel

Legal on behalf of married gay employee.
SkyWest Airlines has announced that it now is offering equal travel
benefits to its Delta-dedicated gay and lesbian employees with a
same-sex spouse or domestic partner, reversing a policy that prompted a
warning letter from Lambda Legal in October of last year.

How the American Corporate World Markets
Itself to a Niche $835 Billion Community
Lately
it seems that everyone wants a stake in the buying power of the US gay
community. And because of that, many companies are turning to a strategy
that's not all that new: advertising.
With
the findings of Pink Banana Media's 2009 Gay Market Report, the fact
remains that the US gay community makes up a huge amount of the market
share; standing as nearly a $712-billion
per-year market in 2008 - and according to Witeck-Combs Communications,
that number jumped to $759 billion in 2009,
and is expected to increase to $835 billion by 2011. The
original number, however, according to the report, conservatively takes
into account that the US gay community consists of approximately 15+
million people.
