National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and Gay Ad Network Form Strategic Marketing Alliance

By working with Gay Ad Network, the estimated 1.4 million LGBT-owned businesses and entrepreneurs in the U.S can expand their reach beyond local newspapers and yellow pages to more easily reach prospective customers on all of the major search engines and on many of the most popular gay and lesbian web sites.

The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) and Gay Ad Network today announced the formation of a strategic marketing alliance to help lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender owned businesses increase their connections and expand their network of potential customers. Through this partnership, NGLCC programs and initiatives will be presented across the 250 gay and lesbian web sites that are represented by Gay Ad Network. In addition, NGLCC business members and corporate partners will have access to exclusive online advertising packages offered by Gay Ad Network, in which campaign activation fees and minimum contract term requirements for NGLCC business members and corporate partners will be waived.

LGBT Households Remain More Optimistic about Finances

LGBT adults likely to spend more on average this holiday season than heterosexuals

With Black Friday unofficially launching the holiday spending season and constant news coverage of the nation's economic health, a recent survey showed one-third (34%) of lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender (LGBT) adults sampled, when thinking about their household's financial condition, continue to say that they expect it to get better in the next 6 months, compared with just 17% of heterosexual adults. This is a significant increase from March 2009 when 25% of LGBT adults expected their household's financial condition to get better. In March a slightly higher 19% of heterosexual adults said that their situation would get better.

In the absence of federal legislation, Out & Equal has worked for more than a decade to assure that the world`s leading corporations provide domestic partnership benefits, equal employment opportunity policies and a number of other protections for their LGBT workforce.


Out & Equal Workplace Advocates is disappointed by federal lawmakers' delay in passing legislation that would protect lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans from workplace discrimination.
Lesbian Launches First SEO Academy in DC

The Search Engine Academy -- DC teaches the basics of search engine optimization through hands-on experience with in-class guided instruction through two, three and five-day SEO certification courses.

A former non-commissioned Army officer, TSA security analyst and inspector and an out lesbian today launched the first search engine optimization (SEO) training school in the Washington Metro area. Nancy Wigal, a Certified Advanced SEO Trainer and owner of the Search Engine Academy - DC, has launched the DC Academy after a 28-year career in the armed services and as a top civilian federal aviation inspector. Wigal's Search Engine Academy - DC has begun enrolling its first students into the local certification courses.
