Success this Season of Caring
Season of Caring was a great success again this year because of the many wonderful sponsors! Even in these difficult economic times, 2099 individuals were served through cash donations, sponsorships, toy and food drive and giving trees. The Volunteer Center is happy to report that toys and food were distributed to 11 partner organizations for their giveaways and 142 families were fully sponsored. This program owes its success to the wonderful sponsors that show their support for their community and make the generous donation of both time and resources. Generating interest from new sponsors brings not only more support for the community but with it the diversity of the sponsoring company, individual, family or group. We had the pleasure of working with 41 new sponsors this year, many of whom have gotten involved with other Volunteer Center activities as well. Our return sponsors have become a core group that our community relies on during the holidays and who help spread the word about how to lend a hand during the holidays and beyond. We extend, as always, our lasting gratitude to the 68 returning sponsors who have helped not only this Season of Caring but have made previous years a success as well. |
