Celebrate United Wrap Up
Oh what a night! Almost 500 attendees helped United Way of Pierce County honor key volunteers and organizations who embody the spirit of LIVE UNITED at the annual Community Celebration on April 21.

Companies and individuals were honored based on outstanding campaign results, high degree of voluntary employee participation and strong community involvement. You'll find a complete list of nominees and winners on UWPC's website.

At the event, United Way also introduced 2009 Campaign Chair, Tom Spilman of KeyBank and 2009 Board Chair, Waylin McCurley of Rainier Pacific Bank.

The Community Celebration was presented by Union Bank of California, and sponsored by Columbia Bank, State Farm Insurance, Staging Techniques and The Boeing Company.

We are so grateful for everything coordinators do to ensure their campaigns run smoothly and successfully! Girl with BooksChildren's Book Drive

Do you have a book in a box? Do you own a book about a fox? Can you look for one
under a lid? Could you donate one to a kid?  Let's get books into the hands of Pierce County children!

If you have any new or gently-used children's books to donate, or would like to run a book drive at your workplace, contact Phyllis Roepke at [email protected] or 253-597-7485 in UWPC's Gifts in Kind department.

Our supply has dwindled to a meager level, so your support is VERY appreciated!
2009 Loaned Executive Program
Each year, organizations just like yours throughout our community partner with UWPC for the Loaned Executive Program. They either lend their best and brightest employees, or sponsor one from outside, for four months. The LEs work as full-time ambassadors and are critical to the success of the campaign.

We are looking for this year's group of organizations who would like to support this incredible, beneficial program. If you would like more information about sponsorship opportunities, please contact Monika Sundbaum at [email protected] or 253-572-5006.
