Creativity, Strategy, Fun & Tragedy

Dear Friends,

A quick note. In case you missed our recent video, I'm pretty proud of it and the Doo-Occupy concept of rewriting doo-wop tunes to progressive populist themes seems to be gaining steam, including with OWS media team. I'm also super excited about our training and actions at the Doo-Occupy to Bail Out America events at the end of the month in DC. Besides great workshops in eviction protection organizing, student debt relief and creative tactics, imagine this... 60 graduates hauling an 11' Debt ball by chains and shackles around their necks, through the streets of DC and a Sock Hop for principal reduction... Epic.

The video and registration is at http://Doo-Occupy.org We'd love you to join us in DC. We have FREE lodging! Admittedly, it's nothing fancy, just indoor camping at a church. But it is free and you are guaranteed an inspiring time.

Another thing that I feel a little funny sharing - as it's an hour long and I know how busy everyone is - is my recent TCTV interview titled Strategy & Creativity for Building Grassroots Power. This interview is the most complete document of the lessons on strategy and movement that I've been collecting from people around the country from organizers to my mentor, a former Pentagon analyst. I hope you find it useful and reflects and affirms some of your experiences on this journey for societal transformation.

Lastly, the recent tragic - yet all but inevitable news of an insane soldier massacring civilians in Afghanistan, and the stories of the damage these endless occupations and deployments have done to people abroad and here at home should quell all doubt that war is not a strategy, it is a failure of strategy. We lost Iraq, we lost Afghanistan, and we lost the grand strategic goal of expanding alliances - not by mismanaging these wars, but by engaging in them.

Operation Homecoming Now!
