I was in the bathtub contemplating enlightenment and I saw that it is cumulative. It just gets deeper as you go. I see that life is cumulative. We accumulate experiences, thoughts, stuff, relationships, memories...
We accumulate habits; good and bad. Or to put it more softly, helpful and unhelpful ones. An unhelpful habit we sometimes adopt is lateness. Feeling rushed, anxious and overwhelmed, traveling out of rhythm, one arrives feeling out of sync. Others are distracted or disrupted once you arrive.
We practice KaiZen at SWERVE so we recently discussed lateness in community together. Your instructors care about you--your health and well-being. Together, we created a new policy that no one shall be admitted more than 15 minutes late to any class. But be on time. Be in sync. Breathe. Look around and take it in. Be on your way, in time and on time, just the way you are. We wish to begin class with you present.
A good habit that we tend to accumulate over time is recognizing the body's need for action, expression and movement! Your body yearns for activity and over time you've learned how to quench that desire with dancing, stretching, twisting, rubbing, flexing and reaching, among other things.
Movement produces VITALITY! Your body is a wonderland so why not set the course to make it thrive? VITALITY, or flowing abundant energy and life-force, is enhanced by exercise. If you've been feeling tense and restricted there's a good chance you need to get up and move your body. We make it a point to get your heart and soul involved in your workouts too, so your whole Self will be
revitalized by stepping in to SWERVE. See you soon.
