Greetings!

Patience is a virtue. And since we're always cultivating our many virtues while dissolving the habits that no longer serve us when we come to SWERVE, then this month we can all practice patience first on ourselves and next on one another.

Practice patience with yourself when looking for the results of your exercise habit. If you tune in to your inner body, you'll notice that workout results are instant (you feel invigorated, hot and alive) and long-term (you experience increased strength, improved body composition, enduring energy and greater wellness.)

It does require mindfulness to cultivate patience, (unless, unlike most of us, you're naturally saint-like.) But cultivating any virtuous habit can be accomplished with diligent practice. The next time you're feeling rushed and anxious (the results of impatience) tune in to your breathing. Consciously slow your breath down and turn your awareness to your heart beat. Rather than drowning in your impatience, become a witness to it and to your perception of the situation. Just watch without judging. Notice that you're capable of experiencing any event from a place of being present. The more you act as the witness, the more you expand the growing edge of patience.

Please be patient with our desk staff as you check in for class. When other students are signing in before you, wait in line patiently until it is your turn. Arrive early to sign in or purchase your new package of classes if you are attending at busy hours. Leave yourself plenty of time to park your car, travel upstairs, patiently greet the staff, instructor, fellow students and secure your favorite spot in the studio. Be patient with yourself if you have over-scheduled, arriving late. You are in exactly the right place at exactly the right time. You are present in the now, witnessing all the wonder and beauty of creation.

By the way, SWERVE is excited to unveil our new self-check in solution for members starting next month! In the mean time, arrive a few minutes early to exercise your virtues.

SWERVE is thrilled to introduce Kate Duyn to our beloved clientele! Longtime dancer and yogi, Kate's talents have already been well-received by early-morning SWERVER's. Welcome Back, Teigh McDonough Gilson!

After time away, SWERVE co-founder, Yoga Booty Ballet co-creator and earth mother, Teigh McDonough Gilson is back to teaching on a regular schedule.

Please join her powerhouse YBB classes on Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 7:25. Teigh will also be teaching YBB on Saturdays twice a month. In June, she'll teach solo on the 6th and then she'll team-teach with Gillian on June 27th!
