Phone-a-thon 2012

The Big Red will be calling you sometime on
February 6, 7, 8, or 9!

The Phone-a-thon gives you a chance to connect with your alma mater, tell us what's new in your life, and offer you the opportunity to support the Academy.

Each year Wayland students volunteer their time for this event.

We look forward to talking with you!

 36th Annual Spring Gala & Auction - April 21, 2012

We are looking forward to the Academy's largest fundraising event of the year: "An Evening at Wayland."

The Gala is an important source of revenue for the Academy and its proceeds benefit our entire Wayland Community and help sustain a college preparatory program unmatched in the Midwest.

We understand that attendance at the Spring Gala & Auction may not be possible for all parents; however, we would like for all parents and/or grandparents to consider participating and supporting the event in some way. There are several ways to get involved: purchase raffle tickets, contribute a donation of cash (if donating online, please type in Auction in the message box below Donation Cause), donating merchandise, services, gift certificates, or any of the other suggestions from the Wish List.

All contributors receive recognition in our publications and on our website. Additionally, donors will be recognized in the event program, event signage, and in a "thank you" advertisement in the Beaver Dam Daily Citizen newspaper.

All donations to the auction are tax-deductible and should be directed to: Wayland Academy, Attn: Development Office, 101 North University Avenue, Beaver Dam, WI 53916, by the beginning of March.

Or donations can be dropped off at Wayland's Development Office located in the lower level of Swan Library with the entrance on the corner of North University and Prospect Avenue, Beaver Dam.

Please direct questions to Stephanie Franklin, Spring Gala & Auction Chair at 920-885-3373 ext. 224 or sfranklin@wayland.org.

BIG RED  has Arrived!

Wayland's President's Council and Wayland Sports Today (WST) had a combined idea to enhance School Spirit. A new mascot - BIG RED - was introduced Friday, January 13, 2012, to help cheer our teams to Victory. At the revealing of BIG RED, Haitham Mawari `13 and Mihai Schnell-Harrison `12 (the founders of WST - a team that creates videos of Wayland's sports teams) interviewed people and heard much positive feedback from various fans such as: "This is what Wayland has been needing for a long time." "BIG RED is amazing and can I be the mascot?"

Haitham and Mihai agreed with the President's Council that this has been an important asset to add to our sports programs. "We love our mascot and how it has turned out!"
