We are in the home stretch of our Summer Monkey Buddy campaign. Our goal was for 120 monkeys to have Buddies by the end of this month. Wondering how many Buddies we have? May I have a drum roll please...we have 130 Summer Monkey Buddies! Wow, we have surpassed our goal by 10 Buddies. We still have 16 more days, let's make it 150 Buddies!
I am heading to North Carolina in the morning for the "Animal Warriors Wild Nights Fundraiser"! Animal Warriors is a group of volunteers who go to sanctuaries to help do what ever needs to be done for the animals. Animal Warriors has been to Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary on many occasions - building habitats, making enrichments, cleaning enclosures and feeding monkeys. The monkeys were so grateful that Hayley and Ernie painted this beautiful work of art to be auctioned at the gala.

Please join Kari in Hollywood next week!
When: Wednesday, September 19, 11:45 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Where: In front of NBC Studios 4605 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood map
Why: Monkeys belong in the wild!
| Please Unwatch the TV show Animal Practice. Monkeys should be in the wild, playing with nature, not wearing ties under bright TV production lights. |
"Capuchin monkeys like Crystal are pulled from their mothers
when they are tiny infants, with baby and mother both screaming as they are separated. When monkeys are used on shows like Friends and Animal Practice it always results in an increase in the sale of monkeys as pets. The increase in demand results in more and more baby monkeys being stolen from their mother's arms. The babies are traumatized and usually deal with emotional and behavioral problems for the rest of their lives." ~ Kari Bagnall
