Yes, the weather has been mild and we consider ourselves very lucky, but that will no longer be an issue. The YMCA has opened their doors and is going to host the indoor winter market. Let us know what you need by ordering ahead.

our farm dogs
At our farm, we have three great pyrenees that guard our critters. Sally arrived a few years back as a freebee and has been an astounding asset to the farm. She literally cost us $35 to have her fixed and she looks a little rough around the edges, but has a heart of gold and loves her sheep.

Our farm is located in Madison County, and there are a lot of predators (mainly coyotes and bobcats), but we have never had a loss of life due to a predator on our farm and we can say that only due to the hardwork of our guardians.

Then there is Sam; he was supposed to be Sally's backup as sheep guardian, but he never understood nor bonded with the sheep. We struggled for a few months on whether or not Sam was going to be able stay on the farm as he wasn't contributing and earning his keep. To add to the struggle, Sam is quite the Romeo and loves people. Thank goodness Sam slowly figured out that he loved the chickens and frequently sleeps outside the chicken door.

Last, but not least, there is Libby, our happy family farm dog. She has been with us for about 6 years now and is getting rather lackadaisical in her older years. She used to be a ball of energy with constantly placing a stick at our feet and barking to play fetch. Now she is contented to sleep next to the woodstove and take rides in the van when we run errands.

Lamb Sliders
1 pound East Fork Farm Ground Lamb
1 clove garlic chopped
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon fresh rosemary
4 Tablespoons goat cheese
12 small buns
In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, garlic, salt and rosemary. Mix well. Make 12 small burgers and pan fry or grill. Slather with goat cheese and place in buns. Enjoy!!!
