Rod Builder Survey Conducted

Earlier this year the results of a survey of rod builders were published in RodMaker magazine. It qualified these results by stating "Well no survey will ever be 100% accurate without 100% of the builders responding. However, with 4,326 rod builders returning survey cards, we should at least have a reasonable idea of who constitutes the craft and how they do business". It went on to explain who are the active rod builders and their demographics in further detail. It also included their frequency of building, spending habits as well as their favorite vendors and brands. Here are some interesting facts;
-The age of the majority of rod builders are 50-59 at 34%, followed by 60-69 at 31%. Below those ranges in the 10-49 years of age only represented 14% combined.
-At 10% there was a tie between Florida & California for where the most rod builders resided.
-The number of years participating in rod building showed that 51% began building 20-39 years ago but the surprising number was 26% have only been building between 1 to 4 years.

REEL SEATS showed that AT came in #2 with 28% behind Fuji with only 38%.
