Culinary Mangement Symposium is Canceled | |
Unfortunately due to light registration, the Dining Services Management Symposium sponsored by Culinary Management Solutions, LLC and scheduled for June 25th and 26th has been postponed. Please be on the look- out in September for new dates for this very informative seminar. Hopefully interest will be greater when school is in back session. Over the summer your thoughts on additional topics for presentation will be accepted by CMS for consideration and possible insertion into the program. If your manager(s) have particular issues or areas of interest please forward them on to CMS for consideration. All submissions should be sent to Kevin Finnegan, FMP at finneganka@gmail.com or call him directly at 508.208.1594. |

rom the Executive Director:
Dear Colleagues,
The number one goal of MISBO's strategic plan is to:
STRENGTHEN PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND THE SHARING OF BEST PRACTICES
In an effort to achieve this goal, MISBO is collaborating with SAIS to bring you a combined Annual Conference this fall. The theme of the two day program, being held in Atlanta on October 21 and 22, is Educational Leadership for the Future. Attendees will include Heads of School, Business Officers, Human Resources Directors, Technology Directors, Facilities Professionals and other educational leaders from your schools. We believe assembling this group will provide a unique learning environment that will benefit the entire school's leadership team.
Registration for the conference will open the first week of June - click HERE for current information.
School and Student Services (SSS) by NAIS will provide another professional development opportunity in Atlanta, June 13 and 14. I will be one of the four session presenters for this Leadership Forum. If you are interested in joining us, information can be found HERE.
As we approach (or have reached) the end of another school year, I know that each of you has a long list of tasks that must be accomplished during the summer "break". I would encourage you to take some time for yourselves - both personal and professional. Enjoy some time off without checking your e-mail and voice messages. Also, consider some of the professional development opportunities that are offered during this time.
Sincerely,
Marc Levinson
Interim Executive Director, MISBO

STEM Education for Girls
On a recent trip to Nashville we had the pleasure of visiting Harpeth Hall School and its beautiful campus. Once there we had a chance meeting with Stacy Klein-Gardner, Director, Center for STEM Education for Girls. We discussed the upcoming STEM Think Tank and Conference (July 18-20) taking place on the Harpeth Hall campus and thought you might want to share this important information with your faculty, administrators, STEM outreach coordinators and degree program leaders.
