Dean Monske to share his expertise, current projects at the April TASBA Luncheon

Dean Monske has influenced the local economic development landscape for more than a decade in his roles with the City of Toledo, the Regional Growth Partnership and the Oregon Economic Development Foundation.
As President and CEO of the Regional Growth Partnership, Monske continues to work to move the region forward, including in his organization's new role as northwest Ohio's lead agency for JobsOhio.
At the TASBA Luncheon on April 19, Monske will give an update on the northwest Ohio JobOhio initiative and the nineteen-county collaboration behind it. Monske will also fill attendees in on other economic development projects, including local international development and Rocket Ventures LLC.

Toledo Region enters the Facebook fray
 In the 6th century B.C., Lao-tzu wrote, "The journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step." For the Toledo Region branding initiative, the journey to 1,000 fans began with the launching of their Facebook fan page.
Toledo Region is a grassroots effort to brand and market Toledo and Northwest Ohio centering around a website, www.toledoregion.com.
Andi Roman Tye, brand manager for Toledo Region, sees Facebook as a more personal and targeted way to share the story of this region with locals and the world.
"The website is intended to tell the story of the Toledo Region to larger corporations, professional entities, and economic leaders in the community," said Tye."We wanted a way for Toledo Region to engage directly with people, to hear their stories and tell them about what we are doing."

Tye has been developing content for a fan page since late January. Part of her strategy for the page is to use it to connect with people in lighter ways, including a photo contest aimed at highlighting the best aspects of Toledo and Northwestern Ohio.

Fifteen graduate from the 2012 Leadership Academy
 The Leadership Academy concluded on March 26 with a ceremony honoring the 15 members of the 2012 graduating class. Past and present graduates came together to celebrate, reconnect and hear from the evening's keynote speaker, the Honorable Timothy C. Kuhlman, Judge, Toledo Municipal Court. In existence for 11 years, The Leadership Academy has turned out over 200 emerging leaders who have gone on to serve their respective communities. The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce looks forward to seeing all the great things the Class of 2012 achieves!
