2012-13 Keyword Initiative -RESILIENCE
Boston University College of Fine Arts announces the 2012-13 Keyword Initiative will be - RESILIENCE - Boston, MA -This September CFA will launch the second year of its Keyword Initiative. This year's theme was chosen by the BU Keyword Committee, who selected possible keywords and put them to a vote of the student body. As a result, this year we invite students and colleagues from Boston University and the Greater Boston area to participate in a year of creative discussion and action on the theme of RESILIENCE. Resilience is elasticity, buoyancy, and flexibility in the face of adversity. As Nietzsche says, "That which does not destroy, strengthens." Resilience is the ability to bounce back stronger and changed for the better, often after having experienced some kind of violence, be it to the body, soul, property or community. We change, and as we change, "Loss makes artists of us all as we weave new patterns in the fabric of our lives." (Greta W. Crosby). > Read more... Keyword Festival Flyer Keyword _ Messiaen.

The Institute on Culture, Religion and World Affairs is a center for research, publication, and education on one of the most important questions in the contemporary world: How does culture affect economic and political developments world-wide? Specifically, how does religion impact international affairs? Since its inception in 1985, CURA has sought to discover, trace, and analyze the connection between culture, economics, politics, and globalization. We have conducted research projects on every continent except Australia, and these projects have resulted in publications that have become major points of reference on their topics. In a dynamic and modernizing world, CURA's ultimate agenda is to further global understanding and communication. 2011 - 2012 Muslim Women and the Challenge of Authority Lecture Series to be held at the Boston University Institute on Culture, Religion, and World Affairs in Brookline, MA.

Terrier Tech: Google's New Privacy Policy
What to know, and how to opt out
When Google implemented its new privacy policy earlier this month, it drew howls of protest from consumer watchdog groups, privacy experts, and lawmakers. The new policy consolidated 60 privacy policies for individual products such as Gmail, Blogger, YouTube, and Search into a single privacy policy-thus allowing the world's dominant search engine to share data across all of its services and develop targeted advertising.
