DOING STUFF - STUFF DONE
February:
Wendy presented three different workshops at four Teachers Conventions in Alberta. Her hands-on workshops packed with fun and useful ideas were well received. Sessions were Math through Puppets, Science Through Puppets and Basic Rod Puppets.
Drop in puppet making at the Reel Fun Film Festival. Over 600 children made puppets in a whirl-wind of activity - special thanks to the youth volunteers.
Shadow Fun at Wild Rose Community Connections in High River, a lovely day with little ones exploring shadows and making their own puppets to keep. Special thanks to Sara and her son for volunteering their help.
Fantastic residency at Jennie Elliot School. Grade 4's did shadow puppets based on archive photos from Alberta's past. Grade 5's made rod puppets to act out folk songs from across Canada. Big performance finale!
March:
Wendy takes part in a Round Table discussion "East to West" about Festivals from Japan, Denmark, USA and our own Puppet Power 2013 conference, during the Trois Jours de Casteliers in Montreal.

STUFF our WPTS board members have been up to: The creation of a Giant puppet that Gabby and I made for the Golden street festival. She was the 'Dancing Queen and her hands are carrying a tambourine and a lantern.
