BHDP's Design Earns LEED Gold Certification

Through an integrated and collaborative design process, BHDP has developed this academic laboratory and classroom building that will support the explosive growth Ohio Dominican University is experiencing in its science, mathematics, and education programs while artfully integrating into the historic campus. The project commenced in early 2008, with in-depth visioning and programming sessions geared toward understanding the specific needs for students, faculty, and administrators at Ohio Dominican University. On-time and under budget, the building was occupied in Fall 2010.

Recognized for their ability to bring about a significant increase in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) related degrees, Ohio Dominican University's new building will provide visibility and transparency for the sciences on campus through flexible teaching and collaborative research laboratories. Cutting-edge classroom design and student social spaces are organized around an inviting central atrium. Aligning with the University's goal of campus sustainability, the energy efficient and daylight-filled building received LEED Gold Certification in 2011.
