Can You Help Quinn?

Can you teach Quinn to walk on a leash? She has spent most of her
life in a puppy mill.

Animal Rescue, Inc. is looking for volunteers to walk small dogs and work to socialize dogs from puppy mills or abusive situations. If you're interested, e-mail us here

Dear Friend,

Join us at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 10, at the Pullo Center at Penn State York for a presentation with Victoria Stilwell, the host of It's Me or The Dog. Stilwell will be conducting training with a few of the dogs of Animal Rescue, Inc.!

Born and raised in Wimbledon, England, Stilwell is one of the world's most recognized and respected dog trainers, reaching audiences in more than 50 countries.

Her two best-selling books, It's Me or the Dog: How to Have the Perfect Pet and Fat Dog Slim: How to Have a Healthy, Happy Pet, have been widely praised, and they detail her core reward-based training philosophy: "There's a better way to train... Positively." (via her website)

We're so happy Stilwell has chosen to feature ARI dogs! We hope to find a few happy homes and attract more visitors to our rescue.

You can purchase tickets by phone at (717) 505-8900 or at www.thepullocenter.com. You can also purchase tickets at the door that evening. You can download the event flier here

See you there!

From the Big House to Your House:
Rambo, Banshee and Chi Chi still need homes
Rambo
When Rambo was brought back to us because his caretaker was moving and felt he could no longer be a part of her family, we were heartbroken. But no one felt that pain more than Rambo, who had spent the last several years of his life in that home. He knew a list of commands and was forever loyal to those he cared about. Coming back to the rescue hit hard on Rambo's heart.

Months went by and Rambo was incessantly overlooked for younger dogs by potential adopters. So when an opening in the HOPE program came up, we knew if could be Rambo's chance at finding a forever home.

Rambo has spent weeks in his training program at the jail and has had no interested applicants. We do not believe this sweet dog should live out the rest of his life at a rescue when he could be a wonderful member of a family in a forever home. Read Rambo's diary on the HOPE website here.

ARI also has other dogs enrolled in the program who are awaiting their homes. You can check out Banshee the Basenji mix here, or Chi Chi, the pit bull, here.
If you or someone you know may be interested in this fantastic dog, contact us here or call (717) 993-3232.
Kuranda Beds and Dog Igloos Needed

Kuranda Dog
Some of our dogs and cats may spend the rest of their lives here. Want to give them the creature comforts they deserve? Consider donating a Kuranda bed in sizes medium or large. These sturdy, washable beds are great for our dogs and cats, especially during the cold winter months.

During the day, our dogs like to romp and play outside but sometimes there just looking for a cozy place to rest their heads. Why not donate a large dog igloo to give them a place to take a snooze?
