Dear Friends and Family,

Time flies when you're busy and having fun, so as we start to enjoy spring weather and look at our results, I realize that during these cold winter months at AFF we have been hard at work!  I would first like to bring your attention to an amazing project taking place in Venezuela in partnership with local partners Proyecto Alcatraz and Provive.  Over 5,000 kids, their teachers, parents and community leaders are making a concerted effort to break the cycle of youth violence in the municipality of Revenga by using our flagship program "Alive to the World" (In Spanish, "Aprendiendo a Querer")!

I attended Microsoft's Global Education Partner Summit in Seattle after they chose us to participate in their worldwide Shape the Future program. We are one of a few content providers in this public-private partnership that promotes educational materials that take advantage of information technology.

We have launched our new edition of the five upper-school books of Alive to the World in Spanish, with new graphics, layout and content.  Please look at our website for more details!

We are very happy to announce that we renewed our four-way agreement with the Ministry of Education in Panama, Chevron and a teacher-training organization, IPEF. This will enable more than 20,000 kids and their teachers in 23 public schools to learn about universal and democratic values and hopefully prevent the tragedies of violence, teenage pregnancy, alcohol and drug addiction. Alive to the World can help them become productive and active citizens.

Finally, I would like to invite you to watch my upcoming TV interview about the importance of teaching universal values. It will be broadcast by EWTN Spanish (or on YouTube if you miss it!) on Thursday April 21st.

We thank you for your interest and for your generous support that benefits nearly 100,000 young people in Latin America. Please consider a donation at this time!

Best wishes,

Cristina Burelli
