Greetings!
Urban Architecture is entering its 38th year in Houston and has experienced three recessions since 1973.  We are confident, more than ever, that the best is yet to come.  In 1960 people touting that Houston's record growth would never be replicated...that was three years before the 42 story Humble Building became the tallest building west of the Mississippi.  Houston has now tripled its population since 1960 and closing in on becoming the 3rd largest city in the United States.

We can all be proud of this city and be confident that the Bayou City will continue in its strong support of quality growth (see UAH Blog "The New Panama Canal")

We hope, through the months to come, to share our optimism in the News & Press page in our website.

Best Wishes from all of us at Urban Architecture!
Harris County Precinct 4 Central Facility
HC_Pct4_Corridor
We are happy to announce that we have reached "substantial completion" and the Harris County Precinct 4 Central facility is partially occupied by the employees from the existing Central facility. The employees from the existing regional offices will be moving soon to complete the move.

The building was designed to meet green building standards incorporating efficient mechanical systems, lighting controls and recycled materials where appropriate.  The building will also be easier to maintain because of the incorporation of durable finishes.  Please visit our blog to see more of this new building!
Campus Master Plan for Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church
Lilly Grove_1
Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church recently hired Urban Architecture to assist with their long range planning with the development of a Master Plan for their campus in Southeast Houston.  In its 50 year history, Lilly Grove MBC has grown from a small wood frame building in Houston's Historic Third Ward community to a 1200 seat sanctuary and 40,000 SF Family Life Center on a 13 acre campus in the LaSalette / South Union community. With an average yearly growth of 6.3%, the church currently serves a membership of 7,000 that extends beyond the Houston City limits. Services are broadcasted throughout the world via internet, radio, and television.  In 2004, Lilly Grove MBC has expanded abroad with the establishment of a church in Haiti - Lilly Grove MBC at Cabaret. The Haiti campus includes a sanctuary, school, and medical clinic. As Lilly Grove MBC continues to grow and serve the ecumenical and civic needs of its membership locally and abroad, Urban Architecture looks forward to their requests for professional architectural services.
