Join students, alumni, faculty, and friends to take part in a "gleaning," the ancient practice of collecting leftover crops from a farmer's field and donating them to the hungry. Rutgers is dedicated to increasing hunger awareness and encouraging outreach to help those in need.  The Office of Community Engagement, in conjunction with Rutgers Against Hunger and Farmers Against Hunger, is sponsoring a "Gleaning" at the Giamarese Farm on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at 10:00 a.m.  The harvested crops will be donated to Elijah's Promise and the Franklin Food Bank to help provide fresh produce to the hungry, who often have limited availability of fresh foods.   Visit our website for more information and to register by October 15.
