Positive Karma in Philadelphia Real Estate
Have you ever had one of those settlements where there was delay after delay because the buyers mortgage was not ready? And then red flags start to come up and questions such as "Will the mortgage go through at all?". As a seller, you face the question, what do you do? Terminate the agreement and market the property or agree to extensions? In this specific case, I was the seller.
Something in my heart told me to wait it out and be patient. And yes, we made it to a settlement table. There was a lot of work in between where everyone helped each other to allow the goal to be accomplished. I give kudos to all the people involved. What was really special to me was receiving a handwritten note at settlement from the buyer. When I opened it up that night, I was filled with gratitude. It reminded me that real estate is not just about homes and property values; it is about people, their goals and their journeys. And when you are instrumental in that or even a part of it, you really are part of something beautiful, part of something larger than yourself.
It is times like this that I really love what I do. Positive Karma in Real Estate.

Meet Your Nightmare Neighbor
This week, we strongly advise you to meet your nightmare neighbor.
Meet your neighbor, Eastern State Penitentiary, in the Fairmount section of the Art Museum. This historic attraction/museum is a frequented spot for tourists and local Philadelphians. Being an admitted glutton for the macabre, my tour proved to be a very stimulating experience. If you are a history buff, this place provides plenty of it and apparently Eastern State Penitentiary is believed to be haunted by the very prisoners that once walked the halls and sat in the prison cells you will see in my V-blog. Visit Eastern State Penitentiary...if you dare, of course.

The Amazing Folks of Hancock Street
| Ugliest Block in Northern Liberties? |
It all started two years ago when we had feedback from a Realtor based on a showing that occurred in one of our listings for sale on the 800 Block of Hancock Street in Northern Liberties. When Realtors show a home we always ask them for feedback. The feedback went much like this:
"Buyer did not even want to go into the property. This is the ugliest block in the neighborhood!"
Whaaaat? I gasped at the words as I reread them several times over. I own a condo on that block! My clients' hearts sunk when they saw such harsh words. That was two years ago.
It was that slap in the face comment that got many members of the 800 block of Hancock Street on a MISSION and thus the Hancock Street Beautification Committeewas born.
Today, this underdog of a block filled with old warehouses and a mix match up of property styles, is well on its way to being the most charming and creative block in the neighborhood. The 800 block is seriously blessed by the most awesome people I have ever met in the world! I am not exaggerating.
Read about all the things we did to get this block revitalized and some of the key people involved in these efforts.
