What is Your Passion?

It may sound boring, but real estate is my passion. I love what I do! On any particular day, I do not even consider it work as it feels more like a hobby. I feel extremely blessed and fortunate to have found such a passion that gives me energy and gratitude. Will it last for the rest of my career? I do not know, but I will ride it as long as it does. There are so many aspects on a daily basis that make it so rewarding.
I love doing renovations and providing a quality product for a new homewoner. It is a challenging and fun aspect of real estate that few folks can accomplish in a difficult market. At the same time, where we live, it improves the community and those individual blocks by taking a distressed property and turning it into something beautiful. And helps the City of Philadelphia by adding a responsible taxpayer to the tax base.
Along those same lines, I love being a landlord. I take pride in providing quality housing to our tenants and again improving the community each time we purchase an investment property. Over the years, we have met some wonderful people who have been our tenants, many of which have become clients when they were ready to buy a home.
Most of all, I love being a Realtor and owning REMAX Access in Northern Liberties. I am thankful that I can provide full time jobs to several folks and a dynamic workplace for so many Realtors to excel in their careers.
I am thankful that we have done well enough that we can personally donate funds back to neighborhood associations such as the NLNA. It is a great feeling to give back. And I have learned over time, the more you give back, sometimes the more you can receive in return. It is just good business. But bigger picture, it is just who I am, as it is my passion to serve the community and help make improvements where I can. At the end of the day, everything affects Real Estate.

Tip Jar
"Life's a Beach" Attitude
We love the beach! If you are from Philly like us, you may call it "the shore". But no matter where you come from and what you call it, your special getaway place is something so special and so personal to you, it can uplift and transform you just by thinking about it. Am I right? Sometimes we forget just how simple and possible it is to just take a "life's a beach" attitude every day.
This week's tip jar is dedicated to the man who reminded us how easy, important, and possible it is to to take a "life's a beach" attitude. Thank you David from Kaya Yoga in Rehoboth. We hope to see you again soon...on the beach!

Meet Your Neighbor
Bodine High School for International Affairs
I remember my Senior Year of High School. I remember my friends, the teachers, my sports, my hair! It was the 80's and mullets were cool then! I remember counting the days to summer that last year as a Bay Side High Senior and pondering my future as a Tennis Pro/Surfer/Accountant. Decisions, decisions...Yeah, those were special days for me and I am sure for many of you as well. If we only knew then what we know now, right?
That is why it was my great pleasure and honor to speak to the Graduating Class at Bodine High for their first ever Career Day this month. I wanted to introduce them to you by sharing the letter they sent to me. I wish the best for the students and want to say it is a privilege to have Bodine High School right here in Northern Liberties.
Bodine, which consistently ranks as one of the top high schools in the country, is an academic magnet school for students in grades 9 - 12. It is a smaller school, with less than 600 students, and is affiliated with the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, with a focus on international affairs. The school is located at 1104 N. 4th Street.
Check out the great letter Chris received after his visit.

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
