Runway Resurface UPDATE
The runway resurface is progressing on schedule and hopefully we will be back to normal in early May. Operations from the grass runway have been running very smooth for those of you that have not had the chance to come out and experience it. While the grass has been a nice change of pace, we are looking forward to the runway opening again. |
| FAA 141 Pilot School Additions |
141 Additions We are excited to announce the addition of two additional courses under our FAA Air Agency License. The courses we added are the Instrument Rating and Commercial Pilot Airplane. That completes the needed additions to offer a Pro-Pilot program under the FAA Pilot School. Future courses will include: Airline Transport Pilot and Flight Instructor Courses. |
| Cooler Aircraft |
|
Air Conditioning
With summer comes unbearable heat, especially during ground operations in the aircraft. To help mitigate this heat, we have equipped each aircraft with a "Comfort Chill" unit. These units utilize ice and a radiator type unit with a ducted fan system to circulate cold air. The units are powered by the aircraft electrical system and will lower the cabin temperature by 30-35 degrees for up to 3 hours. If the units are used during start, taxi and climb and turned off at the cooler cruise altitudes, the ice will last for the duration of the flight.

| FAA DUATS Update |
DUATS Upgrade
The FAA Approved weather source has recently updated their system to a more user friendly and much more useful system. There are numerous more graphical weather charts and weather data choices to choose from. Don't forget as well that DUATS is still the only FREE source of FAA approved weather that tracks your interaction for proof that you checked weather prior to flight. DUATS also has a new iPad/iPhone app available, just search: DTC DUAT on iTunes for the APP. |
| Aircraft Re-Registration |
Mandatory Registration For those of you that own an aircraft, don't forget that the FAA has now set ALL aircraft registrations to expire. If you allow the registration to expire, the aircraft will be grounded and could take several months to get it registered. Be proactive and re-register your aircraft before it expires. You can go to the FAA website and look for the expiration based on the date you registered the aircraft OR just do an FAA "N-Number" search on the FAA website and it will give you the expiration date there. The website is: REGISTRATION NUMBER
