Introducing Eastern National's Newest Publication
Greetings!
Our newest publication, Guidebook to African American History in the National Parks, is now available for purchase on eParks.com

The release of the Guidebook to African American History in the National Parks coincides with the unveiling of the only memorial on the National Mall dedicated to a person that was not a president. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial immortalizes the leader of the civil rights movement, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This concise guidebook provides an enlightening glimpse into how African American history is preserved and interpreted in America's national parks. Woven together, the diverse park sites provide a tapestry into the legacy of the African America experience. This book includes dozens of historic and present-day images of the parks and the people and events they commemorate. The book's introduction was written by National Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis, and content was developed with the assistance of National Park Service historians and interpreters. 68 pages, printed in the USA.
