Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation hopes that you and your family fared well through Hurricane Isaac.
The New Canal Lighthouse stood tall through the storm and only sustained minimal damage to the east side staircase.
Despite issues with wastewater collection and treatment during Hurricane Isaac, water quality along Lake Pontchartrain was decent. Fecal coliform bacteria was high but not abnormally high, and by our September 11th sample the counts were back down to safe swimming range.
