LPBF Coastal Plan Advancing
Five of LPBF's Coastal Lines of Defense Projects are currently slated to be in the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO) restoration plan. These projects provide dual benefits of habitat restoration and flood protection.
The 5 projects selected are:
- Maintain the MRGO-Lake Borgne Land
Bridge
- Restore the Bayou la Loutre Ridge
- Construct the Violet Diversion to
maintain target salinity in the Biloxi
Marsh - Maintain and restore the Breton Land
Bridge - Maintain critical marsh shorelines and
ridges of the East Orleans Land Bridge
LPBF strongly recommends the following projects be added to the MRGO restoration plan:
- Maintain & restore the Biloxi Marsh Land Bridge and barrier reefs
(South)
- Maintain & restore the Biloxi Marsh Land Bridge and barrier reefs
(North)
