Cliff Glockner was a fearless supporter of the Lake and LPBF. Without his support and dedication LPBF would not be what it is today.Mr. Glocker, along with his wife Connie, was an influential part of our history. Together they helped stop shell dredging and played a role in the formation of the Big Branch National Wildlife Refuge. He was a huge advocate for the MRGO closure. He spent much of his life working for the good of our environment, our lake.Cliff was affectionately known as Dr. Cliff Glockner after his many prescient insights on Lake Pontchartrain. He influenced fisherman and many others to be passionate about the lake and coastal environment. His death is a great loss but his life is a lasting inspiration to us all.

Rebuilding the New Canal Lighthouse
Thanks to your terrific support we are making strides to begin rebuilding the New Canal Lighthouse! We are currently waiting for bids and plan to break ground in the spring of 2011. The lighthouse will be rebuilt in its original form but will be raised up 19 feet off the ground for hurricane protection. The lighthouse will serve as LPBF's educational facility and museum.
