Student Nurses Sponsor Coat Drive
Donate your gently used, clean coats, scarves, hats, and gloves (preferably for adults) to the 2012 Healthy Cities/Veterans' Stand Down Coat Drive. Look for the labeled collection bins around campus. The coat drive is sponsored by Student Nurses of IPFW.
 
Duncan Accepts Editor Position 
Cheryl Duncan, chair and clinical assistant professor  of radiology, has accepted the position of editor for the Indiana Society of Radiologic Technologists.

Three ETCS Programs Receive Continued Accreditation
Engineering Students The College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science has been notified that continued accreditation of its computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering programs has been granted by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology Inc. The civil engineering program, which was started in 2006, received its initial accreditation. This is the first time that program was eligible to go through the accreditation process. Background Check Form Revised
A revised Background Check Information/Consent Form must now be used, effective September 1.
  • The new form will eliminate the need for individuals to provide consent to HireRight Inc. via email
  • Departments will no longer receive follow-up emails from HR regarding individuals who haven't provided consent to HireRight Inc.
  • The amount of time it takes to obtain  completed background checks will be shortened

Special Events Seeking Alcohol Liaisons
Special Events is looking for a few employees to represent the university as alcohol liaisons at campus events. The certified liaisons work alongside a university police officer to ensure that university alcoholic beverage service policies are followed by the client and the alcohol vendor. To be eligible to apply for this paid, part-time position, you must be:
  • 21 years of age or older
  • An IPFW employee (full or part time)
  • Willing to work nights and weekends
  • Able to attend the TIPS certification training and pass the exam

Students are not eligible for this position. If you are interested in applying, contact Julie Miller, millerji@ipfw.edu. A training class will be scheduled later this fall at Walb Student Union. 

ICC Networking Council Meeting
ICC logo You're invited to participate in one of the Indiana Campus Compact (ICC) fall regional networking council meetings for a day of professional development for service engagement practitioners and their community partners. Connect with members from neighboring campuses to focus on common issues and a discuss ways you can work together to address regional needs.  The northern meeting is September 28 at IPFW; it's free to all member students, faculty, and staff.
