IPFW Police Officer Andrew Cottrell Receives Red Cross Lifesaving Award

IPFW Police Officer Andrew T. Cottrell today received the American Red Cross Lifesaving Team Award for the Professional Responder for his actions in helping save a life. One year ago today, James Momper was playing golf at Shoaff Park Golf Course, where he suffered a heart attack. Cottrell saw the emergency call as it came up on his in-car computer. He radioed Fort Wayne Police dispatch that he was closer and would respond to the scene. That's when Cottrell's Red Cross training kicked in. Read the story...

ETCS Hosts Second Leadership Workshop for National Cheng Kung University

The College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science is hosting a delegation of 25 students from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Tainan, Taiwan. The students are participating in a two-week leadership workshop that emphasizes the concepts of leadership through an introduction to American history and culture. IPFW also hosted a delegation from NCKU in 2011.

 

In addition to seminars, panel discussions, and social activities, the students are visiting local businesses and attractions such as Steel Dynamics, DePuy Orthopaedics, Fort Wayne Metals, the Allen County Fair, several area farms, and the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo. They'll also take in a TinCaps Game at Parkview Field.

 

The delegation will be here until August 3, when they'll visit Chicago for a little sightseeing before returning to Taiwan.

Application Fee Waived during State College Go! Week
College Go Week Indiana logo IPFW will participate in the State of Indiana's College Go! Week September 24 through 28. IPFW will waive the $50 application fee for all Indiana residents who apply to IPFW. Students must apply using the online application in order to have the fee waived.
