Interim Appointments Announced

Walt BransonWalter J. Branson, current vice chancellor for financial affairs, has been named interim chancellor for the time period July 1 to Aug. 31, 2012.

  

The appointment is to cover the time between the retirement of current Chancellor Michael Wartell and the arrival on campus of IPFW's new Chancellor, Vicky Carwein.

 

Joseph KahmalahIPFW is also pleased to announce Joseph N. Khamalah is the interim assistant vice chancellor for academic programs for academic year 2012--13.

 

Before joining the IPFW faculty in 1999 he held positions at several universities in Nairobi and Canada. Read the story ...

4th of July Rooftop Party

4th of July rooftopJoin IPFW Alumni Relations for family-friendly fun and enjoy the live broadcast of U.S. 93.3, games, kids' activities, prizes, and the city's best view of the 4th of July fireworks. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The party will be from 6 to 11 p.m. on top of Parking Garage No. 1 and is open to the public. Admission is $5 per carload, which grants you rooftop access and a parking spot in the garage. Walk-ups are $1 per person. It's open to the public, so bring the entire family!

 

Volunteers are needed for this event. The shifts are 5:30 to 8 p.m. or 8 to 10:15 p.m. Responsibilities include:

  • Collecting car entrance fees at the garage entrance
  • Collecting car entrance fees as they enter the parking lot on the north campus
  • Collecting entrance fees from individual walk-ups who did not park in the garage
  • Manning the information table
  • General assistance for participants

Fort4Fitness Training Groups

Join Dons in Training Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m., July 11 through September 26 at the west entrance to the Athletics Center. Training programs will be provided for walkers and runners for any distance (4-mile, 10K, and half marathon). Registration is free! Training will be indoors and/or outdoors depending on weather and heat.

 

Walk the Talk. Prepare to walk the Fort4Fitness 4-mile or 10K by training with this women's walking group. Meet at 6 p.m. at Walb Union on Thursdays from July 12 through September 27. Registration is $20 per person.

Office Supply Swap is July 19

Have office supplies you don't need? This is the perfect opportunity for you to clear out the clutter. Bring your unwanted office supplies to Kettler Hall, Room G41, from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 19. Gina Cafolla from Office Max will accept your supplies and organize them for afternoon store hours.

 

Return to G41 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. to find items that your office can use. It's all free! Items that have not found new homes will be donated to nonprofits or area programs such as Tools for School. More expensive items such as toner cartridges will be advertised on the IPFW newsgroups.
